A project of the scale of Project ONE also requires a lot of material that cannot always be disposed of immediately on site. Thanks to its collaboration with Gosselin Logistics, INEOS Project ONE has access to an external marshalling yard just 6.5 km as the crow flies, which is also next to a quay so that transport to the construction site can be done by water.
Dirk Vanhoutteghem, executive group director at Gosselin Group: ‘We have taken up a lot of square metres of marshalling yard at PSA Breakbulk from where we take care of the water-bound heavy-lift assignments for Project ONE. We mainly focus on the inbound logistics & interim storage of all parts and materials needed to build Project ONE.’
Joris Leonaers, business unit manager Industrial Projects – HEAVY at Gosselin Group: ‘Being able to drive this project together with a number of partners allows us to handle a site of this calibre. Our added value is the entire management of the marshalling yards. We take over transport from arrival, we report on any damages or shortages, we repackage or reload, working very closely with Sarens, who manages the last-mile transport and crane contract.’
Dirk Vanhoutteghem and Joris Leonaers told Flows in detail about their involvement with Project ONE. Read the full article here (in Dutch).
