Cooling is a crucial part of the chemical process in Project ONE’s ethane cracker. Two enormous units arrived by ship recently for this purpose, among others, and were then moved into place with extreme precision. You can see just how meticulous this work is in this video.
The new units are part of the cracker gas treatment process. One of them acts as a ‘refrigerator’ for the cracker, pre-cooling the gas so that it is ready for further processing.
