Many people have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the missing piece of the heart of the INEOS Project ONE ethane cracker: the last four cracking furnaces.
The ship that had been travelling for almost two months from Thailand, where these plant modules were built, arrived in the port of Antwerp at the beginning of April. Its final destination: the construction site of Project ONE, Europe’s most sustainable steam cracker, which will produce one of the most used chemical building blocks: ethylene.
In the video, you can find out why a ‘modular construction method’ was chosen. You will be in awe of the precision work that is required to get the module exactly on the foundation, with only a few millimetres of margin!
Thankful of the excellent partnership with technology partner Technip Energies and Sarens, in charge of the SPMT transport and jacking.
