The final major piece of the Project ONE puzzle has arrived in Antwerp. The module is one of the largest and heaviest components of the new ethane cracker. It passed the Scheldt, the Berendrecht Lock and arrived at the Project ONE site today.
John McNally, CEO of INEOS Project ONE: “For years, I only saw these modules on drawings and plans. Now they are all in Antwerp. The fact that this is the last one makes it even more special to be standing here at the lock today. It really shows the scale of what we are creating here.”
While these modules were being assembled elsewhere in the world, construction work on site continued in parallel. With this arrival, all modular units built abroad are now home in Antwerp. That does not mean the work is done, but it does mark another important milestone on the road to start-up.
